What’s next for Alcaraz after winning the Australian Open?

Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest player to complete a career Grand Slam when he defeated Novak Djokovic 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 in the Australian Open final on Sunday night.
Now the question is – as it is for anyone who wins in Melbourne year after year – can he win all four slams in the same year.
“Well, it’s going to be a big challenge,” Alcaraz said in a press conference after the game. “Those are big words, to be honest. You know, I just want it to be one at a time. Right now, the next one is (the) French Open. I have great memories [from] that competition. I feel really special every time I go.
“So I don’t want to put myself in the trouble of doing it…. Right now I will try to be ready, work hard, just recover and train well to play a good tournament in the next Grand Slam.”
The 22-year-old Spanish player a lot good for Roland Garros. He is the two-time defending champion and has a 19-1 record in his last 20 French Open appearances. His only loss this time came to Novak Djokovic in the 2023 semifinals, and that was largely due to a strained leg.
Alcaraz never won more than two majors in one season. He won exactly two in both 2024 and 2025.
As for the immediate future, Alcaraz has withdrawn from the upcoming Rotterdam ATP 500 on Monday. The world number 1 lifted the trophy on his debut in Rotterdam 12 months ago, defeating Alex de Minaur in the final. This year’s field still includes De Minaur, Alexander Zverev, and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
