Basel R2 Preview and Prediction: Fritz vs. humbert, in Shelton vs. Munar

No. 1 seed Taylor Fritz takes on Humbert, Shelton and Munar as the action in Basel heats up.
(1) Taylor Fritz vs Ugo Humbert
Taylor Fritz was forced to work hard to fend off a legitimate challenge from Shanghai Champion Valentin Vapentot in the first round. He enters the French Player Ugo Humbert in the 16th round. Fritz is still trying to secure his place in the Nitto ATP Finals, so he will be motivated to turn away from the good results of the season.
Hubanert had a good time of it in his first round match. He came in with a straight-sets win over sebastian Korda to ease into the second round – although he only ran into the final in Stockholm last week, so fatigue may be a factor as the week wears on.
Both Fritz and Humbert play well indoors, but the Americans have always been more consistent with those two. Fritz is a fit player, so he should be fine for his game on Tuesday. If he works well, expect Fritz to add a third straight win to his record over Humbert.

(2) Ben Shelton vs. Jaume Januame
Like Fritz, Ben Shelton also tried to secure a place in the Tour Finals scheduled for Turin in November. The World That Is. 6 has not played very well since he was forced to retire with tears from his third hand match at the US open with a shoulder injury. He may have simply shaken off the rust, but Shelron’s success hinges on his ability to work bombs on demand and a sore shoulder isn’t good news for this front.

Jaumeume MANAR, World Spanish No. 42, he is a stranger to the classic Courter, but he is entering the tough courts this year. That includes a strong run to the round of 16 in Shanghai, where he lost to Novak Djokovic, and a fourth-round showing at the US open.
Munar holds the record for 2 With Shelton still looking for his form since the injury, this is a great opportunity for Munar to get an upset.
