The quarterfinal spots at the Acapulco ATP 500 will be announced on Wednesday, when top seed Alexander Zverev continues his campaign against Miomir Kecmanovic. Terence Atmane and Rafael Jodar are also there.

(1) Alexander Zverev vs. Miomir Kecmanovic

Zverev and Kecmanovic will face each other for the fourth time in their careers when they meet in the second round of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel on Wednesday. The head-to-head series stands at 2-1 in favor of Zverev, who won the 2020 Paris Masters and the 2023 Chengdu ATP 250. Kecmanovic won their first match 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-4 at the 2019 Cincinnati Masters.

Although Zverev’s recent outing in Acapulco has been tough, he usually enjoys the tournament. The fourth-ranked German is 15-5 lifetime with a title in 2021 and a runner-up effort in 2019. He started this week with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Corentin Moutet on Monday. Kecmanovic easily cruised past Tristan Schoolkate 6-2, 6-2, but the 84th-ranked Serbian is just 4-6 this season and 5-5 all-time in Acapulco. Zverev should secure a place in the quarterfinals without much trouble.

Pick: Zverev at 2

Terence Atmane vs. (WC) Rafael Jodar

Here comes Jodar…. The 19-year-old has moved up to number 114 in the world and will break into the top 100 for the first time if he wins on Wednesday. Jodar’s recent climbs on the pro tour following his college year in Virginia include an upset of Learner Tien at the 2025 NextGen ATP Finals, an Australian Open second-round appearance as a qualifier, qualifying in Dallas, and a second-round result in Delray Beach. The Spaniard continued his momentum with a 6-3, 6-2 thrashing of Cameron Norrie on Monday in Acapulco.

Next up for Jodar is a first-ever match with Atmane, who needs a boost in a bad way. The 63rd-ranked Frenchman hasn’t done anything since his miraculous run to the semifinals of the Cincinnati Masters last summer. He won another playoff match in 2025 and is off to a 2-4 start this season, though he did well against Grigor Dimitrov on Tuesday. The lefty can be dangerous at times, but Jodar is the most confident player yet.

Pick: Jodar at 3
