Germany Harley – Alexander Zverev and the referee hit the ice on the ice after being hit by an ad board during the match at the Halle Grass-Court Championship on Wednesday.

The organizers said the board fell from the upper floor of the stadium into the crowd on the lower floor and hit a female spectator, adding that Zverev and referee Reynold Lichtenstein used the ice to treat her.

Championship director Ralf Weber told German news agency DPA, “This has never happened in our 32-year history. We are deeply sorry.

DPA reports that she was taken to the hospital but did not appear to have suffered serious injuries.
