Wimbledon Champion Swiatek enjoys our starts easily open

NEW YORK – The pursuit of Iga Swiatek winning the U.S. Open and Wimbledon in the same year was easy to start, and it only took an hour on Tuesday to beat Emiliana Arango 6-1, 6-2.

The 26-seeded second seed Swiatek won 23 points in 26 games, and the winner gained a 26-5 advantage in the opening match of the day at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Swiatek played nearly a week after losing in the mixed doubles championship game last Wednesday night with Casper Ruud. But her pace returned to the main start of the game.

“It’s a solid game to be sure, and I’m glad I’m not trying to be overwhelming, but I’m just solid,” Swiatek said.

The second title of the 2022 title on the Flushing Meadows since Serena Williams in 2012 will make her the first woman to win Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.

If she wins the championship, Swiatek also has a chance to regain first place, while Aryna Sabalenka lost before the quarterfinals.
