Cobolli vs. Machac, Atmane vs. wake up

The first action at the Paris Masters continues on Monday, when Flavio Cobolli and Tomas Machac square off for the second time in as many weeks. Trever Atmane takes the court against Aleksandar Vukic.

Flavio Cobolli vs Tomas Machac

Cobolli and Madlac will be going head-to-head for the second round in a row when they meet again at the Rolex Paris Masters on Monday. They then met in Vienna, where Cobolli won 7-6 (6), 6-2 before losing to champion Jannik Wesone in the round of 16.

Madlac is one of the best players on tour, and a bad version of him has been on display since his impressive start to the season. The 30-ranked Czech has not beaten anyone ranked higher than world No. 45 since Monte-Carlo in April and is in his last five appearances at the US Open. Without Davis Cup work later this fall, Madlac may have to punish his 2025 campaign. Expect Cobolli to find work just like he did in Vienna.

Pick: Cobolli for 2

(Q) Aleksandar Vukic vs. (wc) advance advene

Atmane came by voice in the solo competition. The low-level Frenchman raced for Cincinnati Atmane hasn’t done much since that result, although he made a splash in Beijing’s second round as manure – and removed the sinner.

Up first for Admane on Monday is the second show against Vukic, who lost their previous encounter 6-4, 6-3 in the 2024 Acapulco qualifier. Vukic also found the qualities of Paris, as he booked his place in the main draw by beating Adam Walton in three sets before receiving an allover from Reilly Opelka. The top 100-ranked Australian could be dangerous with a win already under his belt, but he is 13-27 at the ATP Level in 2025. Atmane should have a slight edge in front of the LA Défense crowd.
