Tenth-ranked Victoria Mboko will headline Canada’s roster for next month’s Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers in Kazakhstan.
Tennis Canada said Mboko, of Burlington, Ont., will be joined by Bianca Andreescu of Mississauga, Ont., Gabriela Dabrowski of Ottawa, Marina Starcusik of Mississauga and Kyra Cross of London, Ont.
The best-of-five series will begin on April 10 on the indoor clay court of the Astana Linear Arena.
The winning team will advance to the 2026 Finals in September, while the losing team will participate in the playoffs in November.
Marie-Eve Pelletier will serve as Canada’s interim captain. Tennis Canada said captain Heidi El-Tabach was unable to compete due to personal reasons.
Canada ranks fourth in the tournament’s country rankings, while Kazakhstan ranks ninth.
