Vacherot vs. Fils, Korda vs. Landaluce

Sebastian Korda will look to build on his big win over Carlos Alcaraz when he faces Martin Landaluce in the fourth round in Miami on Tuesday. Valentin Vacherot and Arthur Fils are also aiming for the quarterfinals.

(24) Valentin Vacherot vs. (28) Arthur Fils

Fils is coming off what he calls the best match of his career as he enters the fourth round at the Miami Open on Tuesday afternoon. The 31st-ranked Frenchman blanked Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-0, 6-1 in 55 minutes on Sunday night. The Phils are now 11-4 on the season and have yet to lose a game against an opponent ranked worse than No. 8 in the world.

Next up for the 21-year-old is a first-ever meeting with Vacherot, who has improved with straight wins over Mariano Navone and Matteo Berrettini. However, winning three games in one tournament has been a stumbling block for Vacherot in 2026 and it may be the case in Miami. Fils are on fire and the Frenchman’s front will have the Shanghai champions playing more defense than he would like.

(32) Sebastian Korda vs. (Q) Martin Landaluce

Korda has been a Florida resident his entire life, and he’s certainly enjoying cooking at home this spring. The world number 36 lifted the Delray Beach trophy last month and upset Carlos Alcaraz 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 at the Miami Masters on Sunday. Korda is now 12-5 on the year, and his current week includes a 6-0, 6-3 win over Camilo Ugo Carabelli.

Although Korda’s third draw was bad on paper, another very friendly one awaits him in the last 16. Landaluce is a 20-year-old Spaniard who was a hopeless 2-14 all-time at the ATP level before arriving in Miami. In no time, he was able to score important points and take out Marcos Giron, Luciano Darderi, and Karen Khachanov. Landaluce is a legitimate future prospect, but Korda is the more polished and experienced player right now. Although it is not easy to track down a historic result in the next round, it should not matter to Korda in this case considering that he is facing an opponent who is facing an unprecedented situation.
