INDIAN WELLS, Calif. — Top tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has announced her engagement to Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis.
Sabalenka posted a video of the proposal on Instagram with the words “You and me, forever,” along with a ring and heart emojis.
The news quickly prompted congratulations from other tennis players, including Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Amanda Anisimova, Sabalenka’s likely opponent in the quarterfinals of the upcoming Indian Wells tournament in the desert of Southern California.
Wednesday’s opening match will be Sabalenka’s first match since reaching the final at the Australian Open on January 31, where she lost 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to Elena Rybakina.
