The players’ group was established by Djokovic documents against tennis organizers

Miami Gardens, Fla. – The Players Association, co-founded by 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, filed an antitrust lawsuit against the Women’s and Men’s Professional Tour, the International Tennis Federation and the Sports Integrity Bureau, held a counter-claim in the U.S. District Court in New York State on Tuesday, calling it a group in New York State, convening a group for tennis “a small car.” ”
The application on behalf of the Association of Professional Tennis Players said that organizations that conduct the sport “have complete control over the players’ salary and working conditions” and its setting constitutes “a violation of state and federal law violation” that “immunizes professional tennis from the general market forces and denies the right of professional tennis players and other industry participants to a level of competition.”
The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and hopes players can earn more income and believes that the governing bodies responsible for overseeing four Grand Slam tournaments – Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, the French Open and the Australian Open – and other professional events “limits the prize money and limits the players’ ability to make money on the court.”
A spokesperson for the WTA Tour, ATP Tour, ITF and International Tennis Integrity Bureau did not immediately respond to the Associated Press request for comment.
PTPA was founded in August 2020 by Djokovic and Vasek Pospisil to represent players who are largely independent contractors in individual sports. One of the clear goals along the way is to become a mature alliance, the union negotiating collective bargaining agreements as it exists in the team movement.
In the past few years, I have been working tirelessly in the work of PTPA since its inception, and despite all this, despite all this, despite all this, despite all this, and even for all this, despite all this, and even for all this, despite all this, and for all this, despite all this, and for all this, and for all, despite all this, and for all, we strive to achieve the media, but we are unable to do this because of the media. “For a long time, players have been forced to accept a broken system that ignores our well-being, underestimates our contributions, and leaves us without a real representation.”
Djokovic is not one of the players listed as the plaintiff.
“His support for this is already clear,” PTPA spokesman David Cooper wrote in an email. “He wants to allow others to step up because it’s not just Novak. ”
PTPA said it met with more than 250 players — women and men — as well as most of the top 20 in the WTA and ATP rankings before heading to court.
“Tennis is broken,” PTPA executive director Ahmad Nassar said in a press release. “Behind the charming veneer promoted by the defendants, players are trapped in an unfair system, depriving them of their talents and weakening their health and safety, which we have done all our strength through dialogue, and the governing body has no choice but to weaken by limiting these scopes.
