Spurs vs Rockets NBA preview, picks, and predictions

It will be a preview of the Western Conference Finals when the San Antonio Spurs visit the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder are clearly the conference favorites, but San Antonio (30-13) and Houston (25-15) are in trouble.
Let’s get into my predictions for Spurs vs. Rockets.
San Antonio Spurs vs. Houston Rockets odds
Money line: Spurs +130 / Rockets -155
Spread: Spurs +3.5 (-110) / Rockets -3.5 (-110)
Total: Over 224.5 (-110) / Under 224.5 (-110)
Best bet for San Antonio Spurs vs. Houston Rockets: Under 224.5 (-110)
A total of 231 points were scored when the Spurs and Rockets last met on November 7. However, Houston went 13-for-27 from the field and the two teams combined to go 42-for-46 on free throws. Those are the kinds of numbers that are unlikely to happen again.
Neither team plays fast. The Rockets are 27th in the NBA in pace of play with 101.1 possessions per game; Spurs are bottom of the association in that department. In addition, San Antonio will likely be without Devin Vassell (15.0 ppg). He has missed the last 11 games with an adductor injury. Houston’s Tari Eason (12.0 ppg) has missed the last five and is questionable for Tuesday.
San Antonio is playing the second leg of a back-to-back series after defeating Utah on Monday. In seven such instances so far during the 2025-26 campaign, the Spurs have finished with no more than 224 points four times. Another exit in the second leg resulted in us scoring just 225 points. The under is 8-1 in the last nine Spurs games and 6-0 in the last six away from home. It is also 11-2 in the Rockets last 13 games and 6-2 in their last eight.
