Sorana Cirstea said the trophy was stolen from her hotel room during our opening period

NEW YORK – Tennis player Sorana Cirstea said she won the trophy after the recent Women’s Championship in her hotel room in New York when she played at the U.S. Open.
Cirstea begged for the trophy to return on Saturday night, two days later when she was eliminated in a singles match at Flushing Meadows.
“Who stole my Cleveland Trophy in Room 314 of the fifties, please give it back!” Cirstea wrote on Instagram. “It has no material value, only emotional value. This is (very) appreciated!”
Cirstea, 35, from Romania, won her third professional singles title for the U.S. Open earlier this month at the Cleveland Warm-up Championship. In the second round, she continued to lose to No. 11 seed Karolina Muchova.
The hotel said there was no comment.
