Sinner

Roma – Top ranked Jannik Sinner returns from his three-month doping ban for Mariano Navone, who is 99th, before going home at the Italian Open on Saturday.

It was Sinner’s first match since January when he won his third Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

In February, Sinner settled with the World Anti-Doping Agency, banning some issues as it conveniently allowed him not to miss any majors anymore and then back to home games.

The agreement comes after WADA appealed last year in a ruling by the International Tennis Integrity Agency, deemed a sinner considered as an accidental contamination of anabolic steroids banned in March 2024.

Many other professional players feel that the sinner has been treated too slightly.

However, the crowd at Foro Italico night conferences may fall completely behind Sina, although Sina remains Italy’s most popular athlete.

In the Women’s Championship, three-time champion Iga Swiatek was defeated 6-1, 7-5 by Danielle Collins. The third round loss marked Swiatek’s earliest defeat in a large WTA game in nearly four years.

Swiatek is the top clay player on the Women’s Tour, losing to Coco Gauff in the Madrid Open semifinal last week. She had 15 days to rediscover her form before the French Open began on May 25.

Swiatek won four of her five Grand Slam titles at Roland Garros.
