Russian Diamond – Alias to Dubai quarterfinals

Montreal’s Félix Auger-Aliassime passed Portugal’s Nuno Borges 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
In the third set, Osel Drive-Aliassime broke Borges in the third set before winning with his ninth ace.
World 21 converted 3 of 10 breakthrough opportunities, saving him four of six.
This is Auger-Aliassime’s first professional meeting with Borges (World 38) on the ATP Tour.
Next, Oslide – Aliassem will face Croatia’s Marin Cilic, who beat Australia’s Alexei Popyrin 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.
The 24-year-old Canadian will chase his third ATP title this season, winning last month in Adelaide, Australia and Montpellier, France.
