Chris Eubanks announces his retirement from professional tennis

Chris Eubanks announced his retirement from professional tennis on Monday, while also leaving the door open for a return to the road.

The 29-year-old American posted the following on social media:

“If you had told the little boy from Atlanta that he would have accomplished everything he did, he wouldn’t have believed you,” the media wrote. “2 time acc player of the year? Yeah right. Wimbledon [quarterfinalist]? There is no chance. The Olympics? It cannot be compared. I was given (a) the opportunity to travel the world and build amazing relationships all while achieving a lifelong dream of playing professional tennis. I can’t put into words how blessed I am. Is this completely the end?! It’s hard to say something (…) but if so, whoopty doo!!! It’s been an amazing ride. “

Eubanks’ career high came in 2023, when he broke into the top 100 for the first time in his career at the Miami Masters.
