Paul vs. Opelka, Griekspoor vs. Humbert

American Tommy Paul takes on compatriot Reilly Opelka as the second round clash heats up at the Adelaide ATP 250 on Wednesday. Tallon Griekspoor who plays at number 4 will also be playing against Ugo Humbert from France.
(2) Tommy Paul vs. Reilly Opelka
American Tommy Paul knows his second round opponent very well. He lived with his compatriot Reilly Opelka for years, with the two men living together in a house in Florida. Ironically, they’ve only played once before at a tour-level event – last year in Dallas. Paul won in straight sets. Paul is still looking for his first win of 2026. The world number 21 entered Brisbane last week, but was dispatched in the first round by France’s Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
Opelka isn’t exactly the type of opponent that other players enjoy seeing across the net. The 28-year-old is six feet seven inches tall and has the work to match a player that big. There should be a game or two, but Paul is no different than his 62nd-ranked opponent.
Cheryl choose: Paul for 2
Ricky pick: Paul at 3
(4) Tallon Griekspoor vs. Ugo Humbert
Ugo Humbert got his first win of the season over fellow Frenchman Terence Altmane in the first round in Adelaide. He won the title at the end of last year and closed in 2025 running to the semi-finals in Basel. He will look to pick up where he left off in his second round match against Adelaide No. 4 seed Tallon Griekspoor. The Dutch player did not have a good start to the season. He lost both of his games in the United Cup last week; he had a bye in the first round this week, so his match with Humbert is the first in Adelaide.

Griekspoor and Humbert are separated by one win in their previous meeting. Griekspoor started the season well in 2025, but struggled in the second half of the year. Although Griekspoor is ranked as high as No. 25 compared to Humbert’s 36, the left-back is generally in better form.
Cheryl chose: Humbert at 3
Ricky pick: Humbert at 2
