Nadal warns fake videos of him providing financial advice

Madrid – Rafael Nadal warned that he provides financial advice as well as the risks of artificial intelligence.

The retired tennis great man said Tuesday that he never endorsed any online videos or their news.

“I want to share this cautious message – it’s unusual for my social media, but necessary,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “In recent days, together with my team, we have discovered fake videos circulating on certain platforms. These videos are generated through artificial intelligence and show a number that mimics my image and voice. In these videos, I misattribute to investment advice or proposals that don’t come from me.”

Nadal said it was “misleading advertising and totally irrelevant”.

He talked about the sociology’s challenges of distinguishing between authentic and manipulated content and “promoting the ethical and responsible use of technology.”

“Innovation is always positive when it serves people, but we have to keep it risky and act in a critical way,” he said. “Artificial intelligence is a tool with great potential that can bring extraordinary progress in education, medicine, sports and communication. However, it can also be abused, resulting in false content, causing confusion and deceiving many people.”
