Local Lorenzo’s last bid at the Spot Championship of the year will begin against Stan Wawrinka in the second round in Athens on Wednesday. Luciano Darderi and Miomir Kecmanovic also took the court.

Lorenzo Musetti remains in contention for the Nitto ATP Finals and knows exactly what to do at the Hellenic Championship. With Felix auger-aliassime withdrawn from Metz, Musetti is in charge of Athens. Anything less and out (or, to be clear, you are the first in Turin). The ninth-ranked Italian was in the right place heading into the reigns in Paris, but his twisted loss to Lorenzo Sonego combined with Auger-AliasSime’s last-gasp run up the table.
Up First for Musetti on Wednesday is the second meeting with Wawrinka, who lost their swersen only 6-6, but Swiin, 7-6 (7-6 (2-6 (2) in Switzerland was 2- 5), 7-5 Victory over Van Van de Zandschulp on Monday. Unfortunately for wawrinka, Musetti represents a dynamic step in the competition. It will not help the champion of the three-time Grand Slam he ran to a highly motivated opponent with a lot on the line.

Miomir Kecmanovic vs. (3) Luciano Darderi
Darderi and KecManovic will be in debt for the fourth time in their careers on Wednesday. KecManovic leads the head-to-head series 2-1, and the matchup has gone as well as anyone would expect based on the faceoff. Both of their previous contests on the religious court have gone KecManovic’s way, and Darderi is 1-0 on clay.
The 26-year-old Italian has been at his best during the second half of this season and has started to win more games in tough camps. However, he certainly can’t be considered anything more than a clay court doctor. KecManovic is the highest in this indoor area, and has the added advantage of having already won a match in Athens (7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) over KAMIL JJCHrzak on Monday). The 54-rated Serb has never given up on the hard courts heading into Darderi, so he should have the upper hand this time around.
