Montreal’s Auger-Aliassime reaches semi-finals in Dubai to face Medvedev

Felix Auger-Aliassime powered his way into the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships on Thursday with a stellar serving performance.
The top seed from Montreal hit 16 aces and scored 83% of his first serve points in a 6-3, 7-6 (2) victory over eighth seed Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic.
Auger-Aliassime broke Lehka twice to take control of the second-set tiebreaker and seal a straight-sets victory.
The victory improved his season record to 12-3, including a win in Montpellier and a runner-up finish in Rotterdam.
Auger-Aliassime will next face third-seeded Russian Daniil Medvedev for a spot in the final.
Medvedev leads 7-2 in his career, but Auger-Aliassime has won the last two meetings – Paris 2024 and Doha last year.
