Shapovalov of Canada falls to Australia Dick Miral in Madrid

Madrid – Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ontario, saw his Madrid Open in the third round on Tuesday, losing 6-3, 7-6 (3) to Australia’s Alex de Minaur.
Shapovalov launched six Aaces but was unplugged by five double faults, with a return of only 14 points.
The massive power outages destroyed much of Spain and Portugal and their game was postponed.
De Minaur will face the winners of No. 17 Stefanos Tsitsipas and No. 10 Lorenzo Musetti in the fourth round of the clay tennis match.
Montreal’s Gabriel Diallo is Canada’s last position in Madrid, playing the UK’s Cameron Norrie later Tuesday.
