Medvedev, Rublev, Khachanov from Dubai to Indian Wells

Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Karen Khachanov are ready for the BNP Paribas Open.

After being held in Dubai for several days during the war in the Middle East, three Russians have reached Indian Wells. They all arrived on Wednesday afternoon and both Medvedev and Rublev were seen on the practice courts that evening.

“The majority of players who were in Dubai successfully traveled today on selected flights,” the ATP said on Wednesday. “The safety and well-being of our players, support teams and staff remains our top priority, and we are continuing to communicate with those affected.”

Rublev (vs. Gabriel Diallo) and Khachanov (vs. Joao Fonseca) will play their opening matches on Friday following a slow first round. Medvedev is on the other side of the field on Saturday.

Medvedev won the Dubai title this past weekend, defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semi-finals before getting a walkover from the injured Tallon Griekspoor. Rublev lost to Griekspoor in the semifinals, while Khachanov fell to Jenson Brooksby in the second round.
