Jabeur

Ons Jabeur is on vacation on the women’s tennis tour and the third-time major runner-up said Thursday that she wants to “rediscover the simple joy of life”.

Japur, who once ranked second on the WTA Tour, has been in a fight with her current No. 71 in recent years, has retired from dyspnea in the first round of Wimbledon, having difficulty breathing in Wimbledon’s first round, where she reached the finals in 2022 and 2023 and will stand out in the tough game.

“I’ve been working hard for the past two years, fighting with injuries and facing many other challenges,” Jabir wrote on Instagram. “But deep down, I haven’t really been happy on the court for a while.

“Tennis is such a beautiful sport. But now, I feel it’s time to take a step back and finally put myself first: breathing, healing and rediscovering the joy of simple life.”

Jabeur is also the runner-up at the 2022 U.S. Open, becoming the first woman since Serena Williams in 2019, reaching the finals at Wimbledon and Flushing Meadows that same year. She didn’t become the first African or Arab woman to win a Grand Slam title in her career era, but next week she finished second in the WTA rankings.

She is 15-15 years old this year after her 2024 season was shortened by a shoulder injury, as she has only participated once after Wimbledon.

Jabeur is popular among other players and fans, and he thanks fans in her post.

“Even if I leave the court, I will continue to stay tightly connected in different ways and share the journey with you all,” she wrote.
