Homepage favorite Paolini enters the Italian Open final, sinners face Rude

Rome – Italy’s tennis boom goes all out in Foro Italico.
The highest ranking Jannik Sinner did not stand out at the Italian Open when he returned to the Italian Open amid a three-month doping ban.
Lorenzo Musetti reached the semifinals.
Now, Jasmine Paolini is promoted to the women’s final.
Paolini, who scored three fixed points in a 7-5, 6-1 victory over U.S. rival Peyton Stearns, became an Italian woman on Thursday, becoming No. 1 in the Rome final since her doubles partner Sara Errani lost the 2014 championship game.
“We had a great move and I’m really happy to be a part of it,” Paulini said.
The last Italian woman to win the Italian Open was Raffaella Reggi, who won the 1985 championship in Taranto.
In Saturday’s final, fifth-placed Paolini will face later Coco Gauff or Zheng Qinwen.
Paolini and Errani have also entered the doubles semifinals. The two won gold medals at the Paris Olympics last year, when Paolini also won the singles finals at the French Open and Wimbledon.
Tommy Paul is a semifinalist again
In the men’s championship, Tommy Paul defeated Hubert Hurkacz 7-6 (4), 6-3 and became the fourth American in the open era, back-to-back semi-finals in Rome after Eddie Dibbs (1978-79), Jim Courier (1992-93) and Pete Sampras (1993–94).
Paul also beat Hurkacz in last year’s quarterfinals, but was then beaten by Nicolas Jarry in the semifinals.
Paul’s semi-final opponent will be the Sinner or Casper Ruud, who will later play.
Ruud’s title at the Madrid Open.
The Sinners were 3-0 in their career against Rud, but this was their first meeting on clay.
Rome is the last warm-up on the large clay field before the French Open begins within 10 days.
