Gabriel Diallo Upses of Canada at Cerundolo 18 at the French Open

Another Canadian is entering the second round at the French Open.
Montreal’s Gabriel Diallo defeated No. 18 seed Francisco Cerundolo on Monday with a blunt 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of Roland-Garros on Monday.
Diallo joins 18-year-old Victoria Mboko, who won the opener on Sunday and moved in his second Grand Slam of the season.
The victory marked Diallo’s first in the Clay-Court Grand Slam. He reached the second round in the Australian Open in January and the third round of the U.S. Open last year.
Diallo will face the winner of a match between Marcos Giron of the United States and Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands in the second round.
