Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime advances to our third round of Open

So far, it’s the perfect match for Canada’s top male tennis players.

No. 25 Felix Auger-Aliassime hit Russia’s Roma Savlin 6-1, 7-6, 7-6 on Thursday night to advance to the third round of the U.S. Open.

The victory marked the second straight win for the Montreal native, with some Canadian fans cheering him between points and before the players.

Despite his straightforward victory, he took a walk in the park with the propeller – Aliassime as he had to fight six fixed points in the second game to win and keep the momentum swing.

Dominant in serving, lost the advantage in the third group and made sure no mistakes were made again.

However, Saffiulin stayed tight and lost the serve but managed to stabilize the boat and sent the third set to tiebreak. However, Auger-Aliassime once again passed one of his 13 aces and then ended the game with an unrecoverable serve, ending the game’s backhand.

Winning the victory, Auger-Aliassime joined Canada’s Denis Shapovalov in the third round. He plans to face Germany’s Alexander Zverev on Saturday.
