Fonseca withdraws from Nextegen AP Finals, confirmed

Joao Fonseca announced his withdrawal from Nextgen Chingen next month this week.
At the end of a long first season full of travel and having already won the tournament last year, Fonseca’s decision is not surprising. The 19-year-old is pointing to injury, but may want to rest before the 2026 campaign begins in Australia. Fonseca will play an exhibition event against Carlos Alcaraz in Miami on December 8.
The Nextegen ATP Fines will take place December 17-21 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Similar to the Nitto ATP Finals, it is an end-of-the-year championship for eight players – in this case only for players aged 20 or younger.
Jakub Mensik, who is he? 1 in the race went to Jeddah before Fonseca, confirmed his participation.
“I am very happy and very happy to qualify for the Gen ATP finals for the second time,” said Mensik. “The whole year was really good for my ATP title at the Masters 1000 in Miami. It was a great thing to finish the year as the top player in December in Jeddah.”
The 19-year-old Czech left without an Enalo in the team event last year, although he was in a brutal team with Fonseca, Arthur Films, and student Ten. Mensik lost to Fonseca and Tien in tiebreakers placed in the fifth round. All five of his sets against Fonseca were decided by ‘breakers’.
Other players currently in the qualifying stage for the 2025 atpgench Finals are Tien, Alexander Blockx, Martin Landelic, Nikolai Budkov Kjaer, and Nishesh Basavardy, and Rafael Jodar.
