Fonseca vs. Marozsan, Quinn vs. Hurkacz

Joao Fonseca and Fabian Marozsan will compete on Wednesday at the Miami Masters, with the winner facing Carlos Alcaraz. Ethan Quinn and Hubert Hurkacz will also appear on the court on Day 1.
Fabian Marozsan vs. João Fonseca
Fonseca and Marozsan will meet for the second time in their careers and the second time in the same round of the Masters 1000 when they collide at the Miami Open on Wednesday. They previously met last spring in Rome, where Marozsan won 6-3, 7-6 (4).

There is a good chance that revenge awaits Fonseca, who – as we saw in 2025 – will probably play in Brazil. The 19-year-old is getting a lot of support everywhere, but it’s on a different level in Miami. He is playing well, too, having reached the fourth round of Indian Wells before pushing eventual champion Jannik Sinner to two sets abreaker. Marozsan is 1-5 in his last six games, and his slump could continue.
Pick: Fonseca at 2
Ethan Quinn vs. Hubert Hurkacz
Quinn is in hot pursuit to start the 2026 campaign and has risen to a career high of No. 56 in the world. The 22-year-old advanced to the third round at the Australian Open and will come away with the title at the 175-point Challenger event in Phoenix this past week.
Quinn’s top seed on Wednesday was Hurkacz, who suffered an upset in their first match 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1 at the Melbourne Mark. Pole, 29, has not recovered. His loss to Quinn started a six-match losing streak, while Hurkacz has lost five of those in straight sets. Count Quinn left on the roll.
Pick: Quinn at 2
