Felix Auger-Aliassime knocked out by Daniil Medvedev in Dubai semi-finals

Felix Auger-Aliassime’s performance at the Dubai Tennis Championships ended on Friday as he lost 6-4, 6-2 to Russian third seed Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event.

The top seed from Montreal didn’t drop a set in his first three matches this week and advanced to the semifinals in February with an 11-1 record.

Medvedev won 88% of his points on first serve and broke Auger-Aliassime three times to take control of the match.

Auger-Aliassime is seeking a third consecutive tour final after winning in Montpellier and finishing runner-up in Rotterdam.

He went 0-7 against Medvedev in his career start against the Russian, having already won two previous encounters with Medvedev.

Medvedev will face either Andrei Rublev or Taron Grikspur in Sunday’s final.
