As the 2025 tennis season draws to a close, it’s never too early to start looking ahead to 2026. After all, each new year in the annual tennis calendar starts with a bang. The low summer below, arranged by open Australia, does not spill heat.
On the men’s side, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sonner swept the last eight grand slam titles starting back to back in early 2024. They have faced each other in the last three slams in a row. Alcaraz and Soni are -140 to both advance to the Final and go head to head for another great slam title. Sinner (+120) and Alcaraz (+140) are the only two men with better odds than +1100 to lift the trophy in Melbourne. On the other hand, there are six women with 14000 problems or better to take the title. The four slams in 2025 are shared by four different women: Madison Keys (Australian open), Coco Gauff (French open), and Wimbledon), and Iga Swalenka (open).

Daniil Medvevevev (+1800)
Medvedev finally won a tournament for the first time since May 2023 in Rome when he won last month at the ATP 250 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Obviously making the jump to a Grand Slam title is a step up, but there’s no reason why Medvedev can’t do it. The 29-year-old Russian has done it before. He lifted the medal at the US 2021 open, beating Novak Djokovic at the end of the Serbian Grand Slam. Medvevevevev may not be in Slam – Best Wins these days, but a recent coaching change seems to have done him good and he could ride the latest momentum heading into the 2026 campaign.
Taylor Fritz (+2500)
Fritz has been one of the most improved players on the ATP tour in recent years. The fourth-ranked American has done all but one big win; He held the title of 1000 kings in Indian sources (2022) and ended the runner-up in the 2024 open. Fritz did not enjoy great success under Medvedev (three runner-up sports), but the 28-year-old reaches 2024 (lost to djokovic by Now.
Amanda Anisimova (+1000)
Anisimova is not a meaty prospect given how she has played in 2025, but she is heavily priced to win the 2026 Australian open at a long +1000. The fourth-ranked American – finished runner-up at each of those last two majors, falling to Iga Switetk at Wimbledon last summer followed by a back-to-back comeback against Aryna Sabalenka at the US open. Anisimova qualified for the semis of the WTA Finals earlier this week, so she is ending the season on a high note. Similar to the case with Fritz, snagging a top-four seed in Melbourne would be huge for Anisimova. It would allow the 24-year-old to avoid Sabalenya, Swittek, and Coco Gauff until at least the semifinals.
Elena Rybakina (+1200)
Rybakina flies a bit under the radar because she missed the quarterfinals of every grand slam in 2025, but she finishes the season like Gangbusters. WIMBLEDOn Champion of Wimbledon is currently on a winning streak of nine, including the title in Singbo, China and WTA Genali to win over Swiatek, Anisimova and Ekateratena Alexandrova. Rybakina is a previous winner at the Aussie open (lost to Sabalenka in 2023), so she knows what she’s doing and should be armed with a ton of confidence come January.
