Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova doubts about Wimbledon’s injury

Eastbourne, England – Barbora Krejcikova exited the Eastbourne Open on Thursday due to a right thigh problem, a suspicion of injury before her Wimbledon championship defense.
Krejcikova won France’s Varvara Gracheva in the quarterfinals of Devonshire Park.
The Czech Republic initially felt distressed in its second round victory over Britain’s Jodie Burrage on Wednesday. The problem worsened overnight and she had to scan it. Her first game at Wimbledon is scheduled to take place Tuesday.
“I’m sorry to have to quit from Eastbourne’s quarterfinals today because my right thigh was a little sore,” Kregikova said in a statement. “On the night, things didn’t get better; they actually got worse. I think Wimbledon would be better over the next few days just to take a break and see what’s going on and fix that.”
Krejcikova played two tough three-set singles in the South Coast vs. British Universal Card match. The second seed saved two match points for Harriet Dart and saved three more games against Burrage.
Last year, Krejcikova defeated Jasmine Paolini in the Wimbledon final.
