Draper returns from injury, set for Davis Cup with Rotterdam

Jack Draper is set to return from a six-month injury layoff, as the 24-year-old will play for Great Britain in this week’s Davis Cup qualifier against Norway. A bone injury in Draper’s left arm has sidelined him since the 2025 US Open, where he made it one round before withdrawing.

The Brits travel to Norway on Thursday and Friday, where the left-back will team up with Cameron Norrie to face a Norway side without Casper Ruud.

“I feel good,” he said Independent reported Draper as saying in a recent interview. “Obviously, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to be on the court. I played a bit at the US Open, but it was nowhere near where I needed to be to get back to professional tennis. At the time, it was really difficult – a very complicated injury.

“A lot of people have been through this and it’s not straightforward. But I learned a lot about myself, I learned a lot about my body, my character and what I need going forward. I’m very happy to be back competing and healthy.”

Draper is also on the shortlist for next week’s ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, the ATP 500 in Rotterdam. The field is still full even though Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev withdrew. Joining Draper are Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
