Victoria Mboko, Canada, qualifies for No. 1 in the French Open

Victoria Mboko, Canada, is eligible for her first major championship in her young tennis career.
The 18-year-old Torontoman beat Slovenia’s Kaja Juvan 6-5 in the third round qualifying match.
Mboko will join four other Canadians in the main draw at Roland-Garros.
Leylah Fernandez of Laval in Montreal, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Gabriel Diallo, and Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ontario. Already won the lottery.
Fernandez is ranked 27th on the WTA Tour and will rank 34th against Serbia’s Olga Danilovic.
Shapovalov entered the 27th ATP Tour with the highest ranking in Canada and will face Spain’s Pedro Martinez in the first round.
No. 30 Oslime – Aliassime met Matteo Arnaldi in Italy, while No. 53 Diallo is open to No. 18 Francisco Cerundolo in Argentina.
The competition begins on Sunday.
