Dabrowski of Canada, partner of the U.S. Open

Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe entered the third round of the U.S. Open.

The third seed duo beat Quinn Gleason of the United States and Ingrid Martins of Brazil 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2 in Sunday’s Women’s Doubles action.

After the first set back and forth, Dabrovsky and Rutliff jumped out 4-2 in the second round, eventually reducing their deficits as Gleason and Martins continued to reduce their two deficits.

In the third set, Dabrovsky and Rutliff entered cruise control with a 4-0 lead and ended the game with a backhanded backhand missed.

Dabrowski and Routliffe broke three of three of the four chances in a two-hour 20-meter match.

Next, they will face Spain’s No. 13 seed Cristina Bucsa and the United States’ Nicole Melichar-Martinez
