Croatian tennis player Jana Feit suspended over anti-doping program

LONDON – Croatian tennis player Jana Feit has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for “three banned substances,” the international tennis integrity body said on Friday.

The 29-year-old Fett, ranked 189th in the world, provided a test sample during the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs in Croatia in November.

ITIA said in a statement: “The player has the right to appeal against the provisional ban to the Chairman of the Independent Tribunal. To date, Fett has not lodged an appeal.”

Feit, who reached a career-high ranking of No. 97 in late October 2017, has yet to respond to the accusation on her social media channels.

ITIA said the banned substances are ostarine, which stimulates muscle growth; LGD-4033, which increases lean muscle mass and has anabolic effects; and GW501516, also known as GW1516, which was discontinued in 2007 after being linked to the rapid development of cancer in mouse trials.

The governing body that has represented Fett in the past did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
