Canadian Diallo, ready to go in empty Halifax

Halifax – Gabriel Diallo said playing in an open field wouldn’t change much for him as he led Canada in the Davis Cup against Israel.

Diallo said the Canadian men’s tennis team will leave everything on the court as Halifax tries to advance to the 2026 Davis Cup qualifier.

The draw will be held on Friday and Saturday at Scotiabank Center and will be held without fans and media presence.

The decision was made earlier this week, as it was called by what Canadian tennis is called local authorities and national security agencies call “upgraded security issues.”

Militants from several groups said they were planning to protest against Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank during the Hamas War.
