Canadian auger – Aliassem falls to Tsitsipas in Dubai finals

Canada’s Felix Ouger-Aliassime won its third ATP Tour title in 2025, losing 6-3, 6-3 to Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Dubai Tennis Championship final.
The Montreal native led 3-2 in the opening ceremony, but the turning point was Game 7, when Tsitsipas won five straight five points from 40/0, breaking Auger-Aliassime’s serve and running away from the first set.
In the second set, Auger-Aliassime saved two breakpoints in the third game but was unable to convert the three he created. After tied with a 3-3 score, he surrendered his last three games to Tsitsipas.
“Tonight is not to be for me, but it’s a congratulations to Stefanos and his team, which is well deserved,” Auger-Aliassime said after the game. “The big tournament, the height of today, you know we’ve known each other for a long time and your game is high tonight.
“I will work hard to get better and hopefully we have more opportunities to play more finals in the future.”
The 24-year-old Aliassime is ranked 21st in the world, with four aces, hit two double failures and won 71% of his first-place score. He failed to break all seven opportunities.
Tsitsipas is the 11th-ranked world, with four Aacs and four doubles, winning 83% of his first-place score. The 26-year-old turned into 6 resting opportunities.
Before Saturday’s final, Russian Diamond and Tsitsipas had met nine times, while Tsitsipas led 6-3.
Tsitsipas won the second round of the 2023 Paris Masters in their recent meeting.
Prior to that, Auger-Aliassime defeated Tsitsipas in the 2022 Rotterdam Open final to win his first ATP Tour singles title.
Olympiad – Auger-Aliassime entered the season’s victory (16) on Saturday to win the ATP Tour and won the championship in Adelaide and Montpellier.
