Canada’s M’Boko advances, Auger-Aliassime eliminated at Miami Open

Canada’s Victoria Mboko beat Russia’s Mirra Andreeva 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-0 in the fourth round of the Miami Open on Monday.
Mboko, the 10th seed in the tournament, hit 6 aces, sent 7 double faults, and only realized one of the six break opportunities.
However, the 19-year-old won 77.8% of her first-serve points in the two-hour and 17-minute women’s singles match.
The eighth-seeded, 18-year-old Andreeva hit six aces, issued two double faults and broke serve once in four opportunities. Her first serve scoring rate was 66.7%.
In the men’s singles competition, Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime was eliminated in the third round by French player Terrence Atman 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
Seventh seed Auger-Aliassime hit 11 aces, four double faults and 26 winners, while Atman had 12 winners. However, the Frenchman won three games in a row, breaking the tie at 2-2 in the deciding set and sealing the victory two games later.
