Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime loses to De Minaur in Rotterdam final

Canadian tennis star Felix Auger-Aliassime fell just shy of a second consecutive ATP Tour title after losing 6-3, 6-2 to Alex De Minaur in the Rotterdam Open final on Sunday.
De Minaur faced no break points in the match but did break serve twice of his three attempts in the second set.
The Australian improved his career record against Auger-Aliassime to 2-3 and avenged a loss in their last meeting in the quarterfinals of the 2025 U.S. Open.
Auger-Aliassime advanced to the finals in Rotterdam, improving to 9-3 on the season.
He is looking for a second straight victory after defending his title at the Occitanie Open in Montpellier, France earlier this month.
This gave him Canada’s record ninth Tour singles title.
In 2022, he won his first career ATP title at the Rotterdam Open.
The 25-year-old Auger-Aliassime from Montreal participated in the ATP 500 hard court event as the second seed and is ranked sixth in the world.
De Minaur is the No. 1 seed, even though he is two spots below Auger-Aliassime in the ATP rankings. He will overtake Auger-Aliassime, who will finish seventh or eighth, depending on the Dallas Open final between Americans Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton.
