Canada’s Bianca Andreescu loses in Austin 125 finals

Bianca Andreescu’s promising week didn’t end with the Canadian in the winner’s circle.
Andreescu lost 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to world No. 124 Ramlala Thalarudy of Thailand in the Austin 125 final on Saturday in Texas.
Andreescu, who has slipped to No. 165 in the rankings after several injury-plagued seasons, has mainly participated in smaller events this year in an effort to return to more main draws.
The 125-game tournament is the lowest level of tour events.
This week’s results will move Andreescu to No. 146 next week.
The 25-year-old earned a wild card to the Paris Masters in Indian Wells, California last week but lost in the first round.
Andreescu rose to fourth in the rankings after winning the U.S. Open in 2019 and two other events.
Andreescu is scheduled to play in the Miami Open qualifying tournament on Sunday.
