Canada in Cincinnati

Felix Auger-Aliassime is moving forward in Cincinnati.

The Canadian entered the fourth round of the ATP 1000 Championship with Walkover after his opponent Arthur Rinderknech retired in the second set.

When the game ended, Oslide-Aliasim led 7-6, 4-2. RinderKnech collapsed and rose again in the heat early in the game, but called it in the second set at the tailgate.

The 25-year-old was disappointing at the National Bank Open in Rogers, where he gave up on the opening game.

But Auger-Aliassime, who had his first win since the second round of Cincinnati (after accepting goodbye), will now face Greece’s 25-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas or Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi on Wednesday’s 16-round.

Canada’s three doubles against Rinder Knech shot seven ACs to three shots. He was broken in RinderKnech’s only chance, but also swapped two of the 11 chances.

Canadian compatriot Gabriel Diallo will face top-ranked Jannik Sinner in prime time at Central Stadium later Monday.
