SINER STOWS AUGER-ALISSSIME, wins first paris masters title

Jannik Winner won his breakout tournament of the year, beating Felix auger-Alias-AliasShime 6-4, 7-6 (4) at the end of the rolex paris masters on Sunday afternoon. Sinner did not face a single break point and won all of his service points during the second level timebreaker to get the job done in one hour and 52 minutes.
The Italian was two points away from dropping the second set at deuce with the ninth game, but he did not intend to dig in that tense situation and finally force to force the ‘chef. A mini-break was enough to decide, and it came down to the auger-aliassime working ahead 2-2.
Sinner hit six aces, served 72 percent, and won the first serve point with 44.
The sinner will regain land No. 1 on the level from Carlos Alcaraz on Monday. However, he will need to score at least 1,200 more points than Alcaraz at the Nitto ATP Finals to finish the year in the top spot.
“It’s huge, honestly,” the 24-year-old said of his Paris success. “It was a strong finish, and we both knew what was on the line. I’m very happy. We’re trying to work on things and seeing this result makes me incredibly happy.”
Auger-Aliassime hopes to join the ranks in Turin. Canada’s top 10 moved to the all-important No. They played in Metz and Athens, respectively.
“He pushes all the players and me to improve and be better,” Auger-AliasShime told Sinner during the trophy ceremony. “I can only give you credit and tip my hat to all the improvements as we’ve gotten to know each other. I think we were playing FIFA when we were 16 or 17. He’s the best player (in tennis) since then.”
