Carson Branstine will be on the main stage of Wimbledon for the first time next week and will make her debut against the world number one.

The California-born qualifier represented Canada through family relations in Toronto, serving as Belarus’ highest-ranked Aryna Sabalenka in Monday’s first round.

She is one of six Canadians in Canada, joining the All England Club and joining Que. Leylah Fernandez of Laval, Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Felix Ouger-Aliassime and Gabriel Diallo of Montreal, and Gabriel Dabrowski of Ottawa, and Gabriel Dabrowski of Doubles.

Seed No. 29 Fernandez also played against Britain’s Hannah Klugman on Monday and will be defeated against New Zealand’s Lulu Sun on Wednesday on Wednesday, while Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe on the same day against China’s Xinyu Yang and Saisai Zheng.

On the men’s side, the 25th seed spiral – Aliassime faces Australia’s James Duckworth, Shapovalov ranks 27th, meeting Argentina’s Mariano Navone, while Diallo competes with Germany’s Daniel Altmaier in his first home match at Wimbledon. All three Canadian men are planning to compete on Monday.
