Ben Shelton tops Karen Khachanov

Ben Shelton won his first Masters 1000 title.
The Americans defeated Russian-Russian Karen Khachanov 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-6 (3) at the National Bank Open awarded by Rogers on Thursday to win the men’s singles final.
Sheldon’s victory marked the fourth straight year for the National Bank Open champion to win the 1,000 Masters for the first time.
The 22-year-old competed in the first final at that level.
His world ranking will now rise to sixth.
