Alcaraz wins Cincinnati after Sinner gets sick

The latest work of the emerging Carlos Alcaraz-Jannik Sinner competition is not an epic that tennis fans are used to.

Sinner retired from the final illness of the Cincinnati Open on Monday and awarded the trophy as Alcaraz in his first set.

The final started at 3pm locally and the temperature was 31 degrees C. Sinner stopped the game after stopping for 23 minutes.

Alcaraz, 22, now has 22 professional ATP champions.

Sinner and Alcaraz have already performed two memorable Grand Slam finals between each other this year, with Alcaraz claiming the French Open won at Sinner at Wimbledon.

The highest-ranked male players can meet next year at the U.S. Open, which will begin on August 24.

Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Italy’s Jasmine Paolini will compete against the women’s final after the Sinner-Alcaraz match.
