Auger-Aliassime was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters

Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime was eliminated from the Shanghai Masters on Friday after losing 6-3, 6-4 to France’s Arthur Lindeknecht in the quarterfinals.
No. 12 seed Auger-Aliassime hit eight aces in the first set but also had three double faults.
Lindeknecht, ranked 54th in the world, scored 83% of his first serve points, while Auger-Aliassime scored 64% of his first serve points.
The Frenchman broke Auger-Aliassime once in each set and eliminated all three break points he faced.
This was Lindknecht’s third consecutive victory over a top-20 opponent in Shanghai.
