Aryna Sabalenka opens from the National Bank

The world’s highest-ranked female tennis player will not come to Montreal this year.
Aryna Sabalenka will withdraw from July 26 to August. 7 National Bank opened due to fatigue, tournament organizers announced Wednesday.
The Belarusian has advanced to the semi-finals in the past four majors, or won last year’s U.S. Open.
“I’m looking forward to a hard lineup in North America, but giving myself the best chance to succeed this season, I think it’s in my best interest to skip Montreal,” Sabalenka said in a statement. “I’ll miss my amazing Canadian fans, but I’m already looking forward to seeing you next year.”
Sabalenka reached the quarterfinals last year in Toronto’s NBO.
The Canadian tennis team also announced that Spain’s top ten Paula Badosa has withdrawn from the NBO due to injury. Moyuka Uchijima’s Caty McNally of the United States and Japan is now entering the main draw.
