Musetti withdraws from Golden Swing, Alcaraz and Zverev withdraw from Rotterdam

Lorenzo Musetti will miss the February Golden Swing in South America after injuring his groin in his Australian Open quarterfinal match with Novak Djokovic. The Italian has withdrawn from the upcoming ATP 250 Buenos Aires and ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro, both on clay.
“After the results of my medical tests and examinations, my team and I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the upcoming tournaments in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro,” said Musetti in a social media post. “Right now I’m focusing on my rehabilitation so I can get back on the court, I thank everyone for their support and I hope to see you soon.”
The world number 5 led Djokovic to two sets at love before being forced to retire.
The packed schedule next week includes Buenos Aires, Dallas, and Rotterdam. Although the field in Rotterdam is still full, it will be without Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev. They withdrew from the ATP 500 indoor event earlier this week. Alcaraz is understood to be looking for a break after ending his Grand Slam career with his first Aussie Open title, while Zverev has spoken about an ankle issue.
“I find it incredibly unfortunate that I have to make this decision,” lamented the fourth-ranked German. “In the ABN AMRO Open I was already given a chance as a young player and that’s why I’m always happy to come back.
The Rotterdam field currently includes Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev, Arthur Fils, Karen Khachanov, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Hubert Hurkacz.
