As expected, it will be Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sine in the NITTO ATP Finals Championship match. It’s a fitting end to a year completely dominated by the world’s top two players. Following the Four 7-5, 6-2 Victory of Alex de Minaur, Alcaraz Eresed Felix Auger-AliasShime 6-2, 6-4.

The sinner improved to 13-0 life against the de minaur by going one hour and 52 minutes. He is now 292 for the most complete sets at Aussie sites.

It wasn’t entirely the norm, though. De Minaur jumped to a 0-40 lead as his opponent served the opportunity to take a quick 2-0 advantage. Sinner finally caught up, and a couple of hard serves eventually resulted in a 5-5 tie. In the end, however, the Italian left. A 5-5 break was a one-point difference, after which the sinner also chased the second one.

“He was serving very well, especially in the important moments of the first set,” assessed the sinner. “I struggled a bit to get back to serve today, but I raised my level in the second set.

“(It was) an amazing atmosphere here, like always. I’m very happy to be in the final. I’m happy to play the last big game of the season.”

The 24-year-old is one win away from triumphing in Turin as the elusive champion, just as he has been for the past 12 months. The sinner won an incredible 18 sets in this event.

Alcaraz leads the head-to-head series 11-5 (10-5 at the ATP level). They have faced each other in the last thirty slams, with Alcaraz winning at Roland Garros and the US Open at Wimbledon.

Sunday marks the Spaniard’s first appearance in the year-end championship final.
