Denis Shapovalov of Canada is upset at Ugo Humbert at Terra Wortmann Open

Denis Shapovalov rebounded after a disappointing start to his pasture season.
Canada beat France 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (4) in the first round of the Terra Wortmann Open Tournament in Halle, Germany on Tuesday.
Shapovalov, from Richmond Hill, Ontario, lost in the first round of his first game last week.
Shapovalov ranked 31st in the world, ranking No. 20 Humbert at No. 20, improving his lifespan against the Frenchman 4-2.
Shapovalov is preparing for Wimbledon, where he reached the semifinals in 2021, where he released his career-best Grand Slam results. He was ousted in the second round at the Australian Open and French Open.
Shapovalov faces Italy’s World 24 at the Terra Wortmann Open in the second round.
Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime is planning to compete in his first round, while Montreal’s Gabriel Diallo is scheduled to open at the Queens’ Club later Tuesday. Diallo will stand out last weekend in the Netherlands’ first professional competition title.
On the women’s side, Bianca Andreescu of Mississauga, Ontario lost 6-4, 6-3 to Amanda Anisimova of the United States in the first round of the Berlin tennis match on Tuesday.
