Ottawa’s Gabriella Dabrowski and partner Luisa Stefani lost 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 to Czech Katrina Siniakova and American Taylor Townsend in the women’s doubles semifinals of the Miami Open on Friday.
Both teams broke serve three times in the first two sets before the second-seeded pair of Siniakova and Townsend took over in the tiebreak.
Dabrowski and Stephanie, the No. 3 seeds in Miami, have reached at least the quarterfinals at every event they have entered this season and won the WTA 1000 title in Dubai last month.
Dabrowski plays with Stefani after ending a successful partnership with New Zealander Erin Rutliffe, which included two U.S. Open titles and a WTA Finals title.
